Centurion V control says "insert diskette into A drive on boot up
Hi All,
I just purchased a used bed mill with a Centurion V control. When I first turned the machine on the control asked which set up we wanted. I pressed "1" for standard. Then the screen went blank. I waited for a while and nothing happened so I turned the power back up and now on boot up it is asking for us to insert diskette into drive "A". There were two disks with the machine and one of them says parameters so I tried inserting that but it just keeps giving me an error that the "drive is not ready press any key". Any suggestions? Thanks. Joe

Could be a bad battery.
Checkout this thread http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showth...0624-Centurion V won't boot up

Re: Centurion V control says "insert diskette into A drive on boot up
Hi Joe, at the menu select F2 ( setup SRAM) press Y ( yes) for all questions.
when it asks to insert a disk just press enter. ( the disk is an internal electronic disk,, B:)
when it is done it will ask to "format" another select N (no)
Them press ESC to reboot the machine.
This will load a set of default parameters.
you would then load "YOUR" parameters F7 (prams) F7(load)
then cycle the power on the machine.
If the simdisk battery is "dead" it might kick you back to the shell menu.
I stock these batteries.
