define material block for 4th axis cnc

Hi guys,

we're using V-carve as the basic software for our cnc-router. In sculptural projects, we very often face the challenge – especially for rotary projects – that the material block is not a cylinder and often not even a cube. It would be extremely helpful if it were possible to define other shapes for the material. The optimal solution would be to import the material block as an .stl file. In that case we could roughly cut out the block beforehand and save many hours of cutting in free air.


Does any of you guys know of a post processor where it's possible to do this or in other meaningful ways save us time not milling in the air for hours.
