Tool for Cutting 2 1/2" Thick Fiberglass/Aluminum Honeycomb Core
I have several 4'x8' sheets of 2 1/2" thick fiberglass skinned aluminum honeycomb core panels I need to cut into ovals. They are going to be the substrate for some stone and marble tile tables I am making.
Any recommendations for which tool to use for cutting these? I don't have any tools long enough to cut through these.

Sounds like a job for an abrasive water-jet machine.

Don't have one of those lying around.
I found a tool I didn't even know I had that worked well. It is a 1/2 shank hogging bit with a 2 3/16" cutting depth, (Whiteside RU5218H). That is a little shy of the 2 1/2" cutting depth required. I cut it in two passes, and for the second pass, the top part of the bit above the flutes, was slightly below the surface of the material. But, it worked very well actually.
