Ex-Cell-O 604-10 worth buying?

Hi everyone. I came across this excello (ex-cell-o) 604-10 mill recently. The seller claims that it was in a school and has been used very little. Everything seems to be there. The power supply cabinet is intact. They have removed and reinstalled the X axis drive motor for shipping ??? they claimed cause it was sticking out. Some wires were cut, but fortunately they are color coded so I would be able to connect them back in. The computer does not have any input slots (floppy, CD, etc.) so I’m guessing I have to enter the code manually every time. All I found were holes that similar to of those for headphone jacks. The main control panel has X-Y and Z so I’m guessing it’s 3 axis. There are drive motors with encoders, two on the table and one in the turret. The one on the turret seems to be driving the spindle up and down. The whole table can be lifted up/down with a screw below the table (just like regular mills) but the handle for that was missing.
I want to upgrade it to a new controller if I decide to buy it. The seller wants $2000 for it. I’m thinking that I can get a controller for $2-3000. The machine is 3 phase, and I’ll never going to have 3 phase in my garage, so either I’ll have to use a phase converter, or replace the main drive motor with a single phase. The name plate on the current motor says: 6.3 kVA, 230 volts, 3 phase, 60 cycles. The X motor is: 4030D-116 1200 RPM, the Y motor is: OS25-50-40/5-A20
My main concerns that this mill has no manual controls. Everything is driven by the computer. So If I want to do even a simplest milling job I need to write a code. Also the mill was taken off the power, so I was not able to test it.
I just came back from and auction. I saw a 50+ yr old Bridgeport going for $2100 with some war-weary DRO so 2 grand for this one seems to be a fair price.
Any suggestions?
- Is $2000 a good price for this mill?
- Can I buy a controller (computer) for 2-3000 for it?
- Can I get documentation for this mill?
- Can I replace the main motor for a single phase one?

Don't replace the spindle motor with 1ph, use a VFD with 1ph supply.
That is around an 8hp motor.
If it is in working condition I would expect that as a top price at $2000.00.
