please, question about transfer cut
hello :) after cut-off between spindles in G140, i change to G141 in order to machine on 2nd spindle
during this sequence, 2nd spindle stops ( after transfer as slave for 1st spindle that stops ) then starts spining again under G141 mode
please is it possible to stop only the 1st spindle, and keep revos on 2nd ? thus is it possible to use M150 without stoping s2, or is there a wayarround ? kindly :)
Re: please, question about transfer cut
you need turn off the spindle sinchronisation instantly after transfer.
Re: please, question about transfer cut
The Spindle will return to what it was doing before M151 was activated so if revolving before it will be revolving after. M151 can be activated either stopped or spinning.
Does direction change when going into G141 vs cutoff?
Re: please, question about transfer cut
thank you mr wizard :) i thought that s2 has to be static before m151, i also thougt to trick it by making the transfer in g141 ?!
but you are right, it can be also spining, and after m150 it will reverse to whatever was doing before; nice trick :) how did you find it ?
it was the chery on top for my list related to dual spindles :
... static transfer, normal or with orientation
... cut of transfer, with protection for blade and detection if part is still in subspindle
... turning and milling a long part, being clamped in both chucks
... using 2nd spindle as tailstock
... keep s2 spining after transfer for continous machining, by avoiding useless stop
please, is there something else ?

yes, normally it does, or so far it was like that :) now, for some repetitive simple parts, thanks to you, is possible to use L hand tools / kindly :)
