I used a Cutmaster A40 for about 3 years. I'm glad I got rid of it. I built a new machine and put a Powermax 45 on it. It's worth its weight in saved consumables.
I'm getting anywhere from 5 to 10 times the life out of consumables now. The thermal dynamics machine ate consumables like popcorn. Everything else about it was fine, I guess, but it cost too much to run it.
Anyway, at one point I asked everyone what I should get and they all said Hypertherm ... and they were right.
Thanks for buying the Hypertherm Powermax 45 system from all of the employee owners that built it for you!

I went through the same thing with TD, I wouldn't say junk but no where near what the Hypertherm Powermax 85 is!
I would say consumable life is more than 4 to 1, more like 6 to 1!
Best to date is 1071 pierces in 3/8 AR plate with 4966" cut distance!
I was skeptical that 85 amps would be enough coming from an A120 but it has been a pleasant surprise!
I too will highly recommend the Hypertherm line. :-)
