Has anyone used proximity switches on a Seig X2D or LMS 3990

I just started the mechanical phase of converting my Seig X2D to CNC. Right now I have it disassembled so I can remove all of the oil they coat it wit before shipping. After I finish adding the new ball screw shafts to the X & Y axes I'd like to go ahead and attach the proximity switches before I attach the z axis column. I'm using A SN04 NPN sensor. Rather than reinvent the wheel has anyone used a similar proximity sensor on either the Seig X2D or LMS 3990 mill. Pictures will be appreciated.
