A non typical application, what smaller unit has a "laser indicator"
I work on custom projects with fabric and velcro (for military patches) and some of the shapes are getting more complex and cutting them with a laser would simplify the process.
They start as squares with the velcro sewn onto the fabric and then I was hoping there was a smaller Laser cutter that has an "Indicator" or outline where I can align the patch into the correct alignment before hitting "go" to cut it out.
The max size of patches would be 5"x5" if that matters but of course if its a larger machine I can find more mischief for it to do. I just have no direction in where to start my searches for a unit, I have seen the K40 but I was not sure if it has the capacity to display an outline of work area. Unfortunately I have no one to coach me on this except for you guys, so I thank ya in advance!

what you're looking for is a "jig".. ask any mill operator

Look for one that has a spotting laser. Align to a corner and set your zero. Then hit go.

You'll figure out a way to make it work with any machine, it's not a difficult set up. The laser pointers are sort of junk anyhow. I would cut a cardboard piece out that was taped to the table and voila, you have a jig.
