Safety Inspection : Need Help

Hi Guys,
New to this forum and posting this here as I think I would get some helpful information.
I'm working as a safety officer trainee in a construction field. We have recently installed a lift for our construction purpose. Before starting to operate it we must ensure the worker's safety, It's our duty to ensure safety and to check the proper working condition of the lift.
