How does Mach 3 control a cnc4pc "C6" spindle speed controller?
So after 6 years running my DIY Router I pulled the trigger and purchased a 2.2Kv spindle upgrade. Been very happy with it and been running from the VFD touchscreen. Decided to purchase a cnc4pc C6 spindle speed controller board since I have a older cnc4pc C10 breakout board. After reviewing the Mach 3 manual concerning spindle control I have a couple of newbie questions on how it functions. Hooking it all up is simple enough but:
Do I simply start and stop the spindle from the Mach 3 screen Spindle icon as well as speed control?
Or will the G-code file (I use RhinoCAM) start it for me for both start and speed setting. I'm confused concerning this issue. I have the Dwell for start and stop on the VFD set at 10 seconds which may be too long but its a place to start. Again I realize this is somewhat newbie but rather get some good advise before I make a mistake and smoke something.
Thanks
Steve

Both.
If you just want to start it, you can click the spindle on/off button.
If your g-code has an M3 in it, then that will also start the spindle.
Same with rpm. You can enter it on the screen, or let the g-code change the speed with the S word.

Thank you for the quick reply!
I do believe RhinoCam has both options. I know for sure it has the M3 but will check on the S.
