Hello Eddy,
feel free to message me with your questions
Zig
Most probably too busy working ;-)
Sorry, gotta run
Hardly anyone wanted to help organise/contribute material/host/ etc.
I even did a website for the group that fell through because no-one bothered to contribute.
:violin:
Hi Zig & Ash,
Yep the group died off and I got caught up dealing with personal and business issues which took priority at the time.
People seem to be still floating around so maybe there is hope that a gathering will happen again soon.
Lots of great people and heaps of experience and knowledge which should be shared.
Cheers,
Claudio
Hi all
I was wondering myself what had happened. I was just getting the cnc bug when all went quiet.
I was going to offer my services to host an event, as I have a small workshop that we could set up a few machines in to show and tell.
There is even a small brewery next door to organise refreshments!
Anyway if it ever gets going again the offer is open.
many brains can achive great things!!
Justin
Justin,
Organise a meeting and I can make sure it goes out to all the guys that previously attended.
I still keep in contact with some of the guys and most would be keen on getting something going, catch is none of us seem to have the time to organise.
Your thoughts?
Ash
Hi Ash
Ok sounds good, now what is the usuall program, What do I need to sort out.
Do people bring there machines, if so what power do I need to sort out, how many single phase and three phase outlets do i need?
Do you usually have a pizza or bbq for snacks?
or is it just a matter of turning up and having a yarn??
I have a couple of 8' x4' benchs to put stuff on, will that be enough
anything else i should know??
thanks Justin
It's a matter of getting everyone to talk about their projects and place items for discussion.
You can do as much or as little as you like, I'm sure the guys would be fine with pizza for lunch, and maybe you can ask for a small donation to cover drinks and biccies etc.
I wouldn't think anyone would bring a machine. Do you have one that we can play with?
Other than that it's a matter of getting the guys to put stuff up for discussion and an item to talk about of interest to the group.
Hope this helps
Ash
Hi Ash
Ok that gives me a better idea,
Looks like I might have a chap from EVA Robotics | The latest in Stepper Motor Control who is prepared
to come down with some of his goodies and show them off.
I guess now we have to sort a date and how many prospective people will come along.
I think it would have to be next Sat morning for a get together, my workshop will be too cluttered after that with all the stuff for xmas in there.
I hopefully will have the plasma cutter back up and running, and am prepared to cut any small jobs for people if the want. But I only cut ali and stainless.
Just bring a DXF and material (if you have some)we will see what we can do.
There is no air conditioning in the place and only a couple of chairs, so if you would like to sit down, please bring you camping chair.
Pizza can be ordered from down the road, I can put some soft drinks in the fridge, and a few beers.
Now I will just need a show of hands to see if it is a go or not.
So all who are coming say "I"
