Treadmill Motor Speed Controller
I'm in the process of building an electric honey extractor using a DC motor from a treadmill. I've watched countless videos on wiring up the main board with a POT but my board looks different to the ones in the video and I'm unable to fit the POT directly to the board, model number BC-1068). From my limited understanding I need a PWM but I have no idea how to wire one into the main board to make it work.
The easiest way around this situation would be to buy a speed controller, would the one in the link below work?

Re: Treadmill Motor Speed Controller
That controller link shows what appears to be for an AC motor. You could possible use a bridge rectifier on the output but the power rating is a little low
If not sure and need a very simple controller, purchase one for a Universal motor, hand drill etc, and place a bridge rectifier on the output.

Thanks for the reply, is there anything off the shelf that would work?
Re: Treadmill Motor Speed Controller
ok so if I go with a 10000w voltage regulator with a 50a diode bridge?
Re: Treadmill Motor Speed Controller
If the 1kw unit is a Triac style controller then a bridge on the output will run the DC motor.
You would need to reverse polarity to change rotation direction.

I'm not really sure if the one below has TRIAC or even what that is

Re: Treadmill Motor Speed Controller
Any chance you'd have a link so I know what I'm looking for?
Re: Treadmill Motor Speed Controller
There are quite a few out there such as https://www.amazon.ca/Variable-Contr...93357030&psc=1
You will also need a Bridge rectifier to add to the output.
The Triac models are not as smooth as the PWM controllers, especially at low rpm.
Re: Treadmill Motor Speed Controller
Look on youtube , there is lot on treadmill controllers .
