cutting a bearing seat in 4340 tube
I need to cut a bearing seat into the end of a piece of 4130 tube. The tube is 1/2 inch with an 0.083 wall. So that's .5000 OD and .3440 ID. The seat needs to be 0.3745.
I can drill and ream to .374, but I need to get that last .0005, without going over. I can't get any boring tool I have into that small a space. I would appreciate any suggestions you guys might have.

Get it to .374 then just use sand paper to bring it to .3745, be careful, use fine grit, watch your fingers. Check the size often while sanding.
Good luck.

I found a .3745 ream on MSC. Thx.

Adjustable reamer also would work.
