chinese 6040 CNC routers

Righto,
Guys I am a newbie at all this and have been reading some of the comments about the 'cheap' Chinese routers.......so I am a hobbyist with my woodworking...but I am wanting to make some jigsaw puzzle type things on a 2 dimensional axis....can these or will these machines do this sufficiently....I have read some of the forums about the gecko's etc......ha ha and am hoping that someone out there will jump on board and guide me some.....always open to suggestions....wanting to work with timber that will probably be around 20 -25 mm thick and cut out a basic jigsaw puzzle......the ability to do signage would be awesome as well.....there are obviously people out there who are in the know...and if someone wants to guide/coach me more than happy to listen and learn.......
