Fault light-- intermittent
Hey gang-
Been running my CNC router parts pro machine for ~ 10 years.
Having an issue today where the E stop keeps triggering (i have no estop its jumped). I cleared it a few times and restarted trying to finish my part.
It just triggered a minute ago in the middle of a cut (stayed triggered- leaving the emergency light flashing on the Mach3 diagnostics). I walked over to the G540 and the fault light was on. I could not clear the Estop in Mach3. Cycling the power on the conrol cabinet resolved the fault immediately.
I'm wondering if my G540 has an issue.
Is there a document somewhere that lists reasons this light could be on?
Attaching a few photos of the setup

Re: Fault light-- intermittent
About an hour into websearching. I found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ph-IFMQC_6E which suggests:
This can be related to thermals, but more importantly related to the incoming power from what i believe is a switched power supply. It seems gecko is aware of this issue and has been reworking boards to remove a capacitor-- and provides guidance on how to do this.
Emailing gecko now.
