I have an issue with f-engrave. In the V-Carve Mode the inlay fits only if the prismatic overcut is set to 0. That means that the inlay is too small on its top an fits only on the base of the inlay. What I’m doing wrong? I’m using Version 1.72.

If you are using Scorch's youtube video as a guide it could be the same issue I ran up against.

Another thing to consider is not all v-bits come to a true point.
Hope that helps in some way. I haven't attempted another inlay since making those posts so the rest of the details are lost in memory.
Thank you for this link. Obviously others had the same problems and they could solve it. I have checked everything and I tried it again with the same result. The base is too big or the Inlay too small. I have attached my setting. May be you can see my mistake.
Okay you didn't make the same mistake of applying prismatic overcut to the base. The youtube video confused me on that detail due to the video using an older version.
And what happens if the prismatic overcut is a negative number ? If the base (female) is a little to wide and the inlay (male) is a little to narrow it could be a v-bit problem as described in this link.Quote:

I did a simulation like in the Link. And you can see in the attached picture that it is also in the Simulation visible that the two pieces will not fit and that is what I see in reality too.
So I'm very sure that it is not a problem of the router bit.
I would be really happy if someone could show me my mistake.
I used the g-code you sent me (via e-mail) and made solid models with CAMOTICS output (from your g-code). The inlay looks fine see the attached picture.

I did not see this thread until tonight. I independently came to the same conclusion as cyclestart. Your v-bit does not cut to a true point.
