Mikron Haas VCE 500 backup download
Hello guys,
is there a way to download backup for this older machine like you do on newer ones? What is the procedure for that?
Secondly, what can you see in that backup and is it possible to somehow see machine state in the alarm conditions?
We have a problem that the machine will show alarm 115 turret rotate fault while the umbrella changer is still in the in position (meaning it hasnt even moved yet), so I'm thinking it is getting signal that the ATC is out and drum needs to rotate, but it really shouldnt, so I was thinking if there was a way to check signal history inside backup files?
Thakns in advance.

Hi!
Unfortunatelly backup contains only list of parameters and values. Those files was supposed to fit in 1MB disqette so there is nothing unnecessary to put the control back up.
Does the alarm appear right away? Or in few seconds after start of toolchange? And is the umbrella changer in position 1?
This changer is pretty simple.

Alarm appears right away, umbrella hasnt even moved yet a bit...

That can be caused by move sensor- rotation of changer is moved by Geneva mechanism. It is a gear that changes continous rotation of motor into a stepped rotation. And there is a sensor near the middle of umbrella that senses if geneva gear is in position of tool nest (not in reference position cause there is separate sensor for that). If it thinks that changer is not in tool clamping position it can't make moves, cause toolchange attempt would effect toll fall down.

As for checking the machine state in alarm conditions, the backup file may not provide direct visibility into the signal history. However, it's possible that the backup could contain logs or event records that may help diagnose the cause of the alarm. These shell shockers logs may provide timestamps and other relevant information related to alarm occurrences, which could be helpful in troubleshooting the issue you mentioned.

Older machines might still use a serial port or suika game USB connection for direct backup transfer. Connect the machine to a computer with the appropriate software (usually provided by Haas) and initiate the backup process from the machine's control panel.
