I am building my contoll cabinet now and am thinking about fuses. Do I want them and where should I put them?

Unless they are light loads you want to use circuit breakers in your cabinet all main supplies Ac or Dc should have a Breaker or Fuse rated for load plus 150%Quote:

So say I have your standard mean well DC power supply, I would want a breaker or a fuse between its output and my drivers that can do 150% of the output?
My driver power supply is a 48v 21a DC supply, is that considered bigger than a light load?
I'll look around for the regulation book.
Just to clarify, since your drives are rated at 5 amp input, you would want about a 7 amp slow-blow fuse between the power supply and each drive.
Just as an aside, I much prefer linear power supplies due to their extra ruggedness.Quote:

Yes, you have to put the fuse in the circuit, Fuse should be fast blown before the acorn board supply.
rest you can go with MCBs, But fuse is more responsive.
