    Problem with X axis

I recently purchased a used CNC Precix router which is in great condition.

The problem I have is with the X axis. When I try to move the X axis, the X2 motor spins indefinitely, but the X1 motor does not turn at all.

I tested all the drivers and power to the motors, and everything seems to be working fine.

When I disconnect the X1 motor power cables on the back of the controller, the X2 motor doesn't turn. Any idea what may be the problem?

Also, do you think it is a good idea to retrofit with Mach4 (SMOOTHSTEPPER?) or LinuxCNC (MESA?)? Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

    Re: Problem with X axis

Is this one of those machines with DC servos? Or AC Servos?

Your CNC milling machine may have a broken shaft, I think you should take it to a repair shop to get the best repair, instead of staying at home to find out where it is broken.
