Hello,
I bought an old 1983 Mazak Quick Turn 20 Universal a couple months ago.
We cleaned it up and successfully powered it on (it sometimes trip the 300mA differential when main contactor is set to on, but a couple retries and it stays on).
We got to run a couple parts, and it suddenly powered off itself (same as pressing the 0 button on the panel) ...
We checked and found the spindle drive fan was mounted backwards and not powered on, so we set it back the right way and powered it, thermal camera says it's ok, but still powers off after some time.
We checked the rectifier unit and found the fan was not moving, changed it, thermal camera says it's ok, but still powers off after some time.
Took out the power supply (PD13A), changed all aluminum caps, plugged everything back (the power supply is behind the controller ...), still powers off after some time.
I'm out of options ...
Also I have 2 more problems:
- acceleration and decceleration are brutal ... is there a way to slow down start and stop (checked the Fanuc model 15 drive manual, but RV20 is available only on model 30 / 40) ?
- it looks like at some point in time it had the 2 sensors for chuck open / close, but they are missing, from want I understood there is a bit somewhere in the parameters to tell it not to care about these sensors, anyone know where ?
Any help very much appreciated !
Have a great day !
Thomas.
