    rc brushless spindle motor

    Hi,
I ordered this motor sec ago.
N5065 380KV 1665W High Efficiency Brushless Motor For Drones Multicopter Skate Scooter Skateboard Set DIY Electric Skate Board

    it was a cheapest solution...
    Specs are:

    Model: 5065
    Rotational Speed:380 (kv) RPM/V
    Lithium polymer battery: 3S-8S
    Nickel-cadmium / nickel-metal hydride batteries: 9S-24S
    Propeller (inch): 16 * 10/18 * 10 / 18.5 * 12
    Electricity adjustment (A): 80
    The shaft length: 20mm
    Shaft diameter: 8mm
    Weight: 380g
    Rally value: 3KG-5.5KG
    Power: 1665W
    Resistance: 20mΩ
    Continuous current: 80A
    Reactive current: 2A
    Input voltage: 3-8Cells lipo
    Effective utilization rate: 98%
    Supporting oar size: 14x10 / 15x10 / 16x10
    Motor length: 56MM
    Motor diameter: 50MM

I want to build a spindle. I understood mechanical part, and i read a lot of old threads about electronics, but that is a very confusing matter for me.
I decided and ordered this motor to start with. Is it of any good?
So... mu primary question is :
What is the proper type of electronics (and cheapest solutions for ESC and/or other "elctro things" ) that i must buy to hook up this motor to arduino+cnc shield v3 setup that i already have?
Some explanations , schematic and links for parts would be most appreciated.
At the end, just to mention that, i do not expect much from this project. I just want to try.
    Cheers.

They are not a practical solution for a CNC spindle.
Look at the power specs, and the physical size.

    Thanks for quick answer.
But man... that wasn`t helpful, i already bought it... so i am stuck with it.
Look this in theoretical way. Help me to connect this with some power supply , esc...ect.

P.S.Don`t get me wrong with helpfulness of your answer. Thanks again!

You will be fine with this for a spindle motor, there are many using these to run there spindles, do a search on here and you will find others, some have even made up the needed power control, I built this spindle which was power by the same kind of motor, the belt drive if you are using one needs to be a Poly-V-Belt 3 ribs is enough, this build was for a customer in 2011 so a lot of people have used them since then

    Re: rc brushless spindle motor

    Thanks mactec54, i wasn`t sure 100% that i bayed suitable one. Now it`s a relief.
I was read "lightly", almost all posts, i founded on this and other forums about this subject, already.
Most of them are old and abandoned.
So, i decide to make my own thread, and specifically for my motor model.
My questions from previous post still stands.

What ESC from above? another maybe?
What PSU ( price- gain ) for optimal use of my motor?
What RPM with decent torque could i get from this motor?
I figured out math for rpm/volt but i`m not sure, so i need expert opinion and guide here.

P.S.Motor was cheapest one, and it was "instant purchase", to motivate myself to wake up from laziness and build the spindle.
To mention, i am building small size desktop router, but very rigid one ( for this build size of-course ). Mechanical part is 90% done.
I will post some pictures here soon.

p.p.s. @mactec54, seen your post, excellent workmanship!

    Re: rc brushless spindle motor

Will the max rpm i`ll get from cheap "brucelee" 12V/30A psu on this model motor, is12x380kv=4560rpm ?
    Is then 30A esc sufficient?
I do not understand : Are those 30amps from psu suffice, or psu will just explode... on continuous max load.
Then...is an 30A esc will "drive" this setup correctly ? Or... is a ( for example) 80A esc good or bad for motor+psu combo.
I am a little confused and unfamiliar with all. Please explain.
    Some more questions:
1.As i read some cnc topics 4500rpm would be good enough for alu, even steel, with proper torque?
    2. Has this motor have enough torque at 12v/30A ?

There is lots of information that could help you with you power supply, here is a link that may help, most run around 12,000 RPM or more and use a belt drive at 2:1 ( not saying you are a dummy, this is just the title of there topic )

    Re: rc brushless spindle motor

    Thanks for other answers, but...
I wasn`t patient enough to wait someone to answer my questions about esc so,
    i bought this items:
    ESC
Mystery Firedragon RC 80A 2-6s ESC for helicopter BEC UBEC U-BEC Brushless
    Servo tester
Professional TECH Electronic Speed Controller ESC EK2-0907 Upgraded Servo Tester | eBay

i think the psu will be 2x old atx (12v/30a)+ battery(~80A)...
What you think about ESC and PSU combo?
    Cheers!

    ??? someone...please help...
    1. i need to know is my purchase good?
    2. Is psu+ battery combo good? I was reading somewhere about this but i don`t know how to connect , so please some schematics or tutorial.

    Re: rc brushless spindle motor

The motor will work with up to 32V or so, so with a 12V PSU you will only be able to get about 1/3 power. I'd go with a 24V supply, which should work with your ESC fine.
I would recommend getting more familiar with RC stuff as well as power supplies before moving forward with this. Your questions are very basic and indicate a lack of knowledge that will likely damage something and possibly injure you or others.

Your plan for using 2 PSU's and a battery is not a good one. Very likely to burn out one of the PSU's or blow up the battery. Question is which will happen first.
