RTCP setup for 6 Axis machine (table with rotary axis and BC head)

    hello,

we install a KFLOP motion controller in our 6 axis machine. (rotary A axis on table, BC head)
All axis motors are working, I can jog in Mach3 and KMotionCNC.
I have created a Kinematics.txt file and inserted the line 5AxisGimbalBC.
Now I am stuck. Where do I configure the offset length of the B Axis rotation point?

    Hi,

See our wiki on Kinematics and RTCP

See this section where User kizilkaya explains how to change the PivotToChuckLength.

You will need to create a new class for 6 axes. If I understand your configuration it might be called TableAGimbalBC.

Thank you, that helped a lot, we have RTCP working. At the moment we use the existing 5AxisGimbalCB and just modified the GimbalChuckLength.

In KMotionCNC we can jog and the center of the spindle stays in position.

Mach3 does not do that but that is probably a limitation of Mach3. (If we jog in Mach3 there is no RTCP although KMotionCNC shows all axis moving but they don't.)

In Mach3 we have the tool changer setup and we have a wireless USB pendant to jog and control much of the machine. With a big machine it helps a lot to have a wireless pendant...

We probably have to move to KMotionCNC, are there pendants on the market?

    Thank you !

    Hi Helmut,

    Correct Mach3 doesn't support Kinematics/RTCP.

(If we jog in Mach3 there is no RTCP although KMotionCNC shows all axis moving but they don't.)
That makes sense. When rotating an axis in Mach3 the Tool Tip moves so KMotionCNC shows this.

We recommend MPGs wired directly to KFLOP/Kanalog as this guarantees real-time response. See our wiki here. A wired/wireless Gamepad is also supported, see here.
