So what did you end up buying? Happy with it?
Yes there are some problems with that. But you are better of putting that on the Autodesk CAM forum. Now located here: https://camforum.autodesk.com/index.php
Not sure for tomorrow since the forum...
I totally agree that feed, is the way to go, but in stainless, cutting speed is critical to tool life and so g96 is what you want. And the longer and bigger the product the bigger the chance you want...
Why would using G97 save cycle time? Do you write g-code by hand?? And change speed for each diameter cut? Or a really low power spindlemotor?
Otherwise G96 got to be quicker. In fact...
Thanks guys!
Must say, Hedelius does have some big advantages to a hermle though. They have the formingstar, good for 3D finishing, and high speed roughing. They have torque motors in the 4th and...
This is possible,
How are you planning to program?
ez-guide? or g-code? CAM?
Yes we do understand, you would a least need HSMWorks to do 4 axis simultaneous. But most people only use indexing anyway.

Thought it supported the indexing, but too bad then!

I believe he asked for "problem with CNC controllers or mach-3"
Some cnc controllers do use serial ports.
One more option is HSMXpress, do keep in mind it only does 2D operations, but I believe does support a 4th-axis.
Why would all hp notebooks(best there are) have compatibility issues with mach-3?
I think more problems will arise because of new windows operating systems, the serial port is no longer standard...
Hurco do promiss high accuracy on the 4th and 5th axis that is why it concerns me.
With the new Mori Seiki it's hard to find which are from the collaboration and which are from Mori only. Here they...
Did have a look at the Hurco!
Only has a very high price for a machine with such a low accuracy in XYZ, the axis you will still use the most!
Thanks for the input!
Didn't know of the hedelius issue! Good to know!
No not at all!
All is programmed by CAM!
So would just need a short block processing time, Which the Fanuc 31i 5 axis has,...
Yeah, Hermle as a manufacturer is probably the top brand, but looking for spindle spec's(Nm, kW), etc they are lower, for a higher price it doesn't seem the perfect choice.
You would rate Hedelius...
Looking for A 5-Axis mill.
And the contenders are:
Hermle C400
Doosan VC630-5ax
DMG DMU 75 Monoblock
Hedelius RS505
Any suggestion and things you say to look for?
Any input is appreciated!
We always keep it running.
Machining time on our 2600LM Drastically increases when we turn it off.(Like on all the other lathe's)
Yeah, like 10 000 parts says anything, 10 000 parts that take an...
Is you would like to run it 5 years from now buy quality machine and not a nice control.
Buy a Doosan with Fanuc, or if your not THAT good at programming, with heidenhain. But the siemens drives...
Here in europe, Definitly Doosan!
And in India Doosan is the biggest machine tool maker and they have a very good service level.
My Doosan tech originates from India.
Does the machine have an automatic chuck?
When not the chuck it's self but the pulling part is even slightly miss aligned it makes a horrible noise or vibration.
Since I'm comparing on price level. The NL line with built in live tooling motor is out of line in that case and the difference between mori eco and gildemeister eco is the print. Machines are...
underthetire, yes it is.
Since a year they sell aswell as another company which has sold mori seiki for years.
fizzissist,
Why would I go for a machine with less torque, and the eco machine's...
Hee guys,
Allthough i'm not new to this forum. I only used it to look stuff up. Never made an account. But now I need you advice.
In our shop we are looking for a new turn-mill machine.
We...
