I got the answer from Gibbs:
The Rough Mill Bore generates toolpath as you would for a pocket with a roughing process, but starting from center of the bore. This type allows you to take multiple...
I have an older Anilam Crusader M 3 axis mill. I would like to use a tension/ compression tapping head I have to do several holes in a tooling plate.
My spindle will reverse using M codes, but the...
Hello,
Please excuse my ignorance here, but how are the Bore Finish and Bore Rough processes different? The setting parameters are all the same so why call it two different things?
Am I missing...
I have a Fette helical indexable (ERP90) end mill that I need inserts for. I called USA LMT-Fette to order the inserts and they tell me they don't have any and do not stock them any longer.

I have version 12.0.17.0 of Gibbs and I cannot find Project Onto Model in the Solids section. I have "Project Geometry" but it does not give me the option to project a point, line, or contour.

Hello,
I posted last week about a UART problem I am having with my Anilam Crusader 3 Axis Mill.
It worked fine several weeks ago and then last week it would not upload and gave me a UART Fail...
Hello,
I have an Anilam Crusader M 3-axis will and went to use it this afternoon and ran into a problem.
I haven't used the mill in several months but it was working fine when I used it last.

I got in touch with Jerry who used to work for Anilam and he had me check and re-seat all of the IC's on the boards and the old girl fired right back up.
Thanks for your help Jim. Much...
Jim... It was a little high at 14.28v but seems fine. I guess I could have an issue with one of the boards?
Thanks,
Steve
Jim,
I checked the voltage and am getting a steady 5.174v. The 24v is a little high at 28v. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Steve
Thanks Jim.
Thanks for the quick reply. If I use a computer power supply should I also get the +/- 12v and 24v signals off there also? Should the grounds from the old power supply then go to the...
I was hoping to get some help and get my old Anilam Crusader M 3 axis mill up and running again.
It started not booting up on and off and the keypad would freeze and the screen would go blank...
Just so I understand... the scales DO NOT interface directly with the servo drives correct??? Do the scales run through another board with a comparator circuit for position?
Thanks,
Steve
Al,
Do you have a link to the video you spoke of with Dr. Tal where he talks about servo control with glass scale position feedback? I looked around and can not seem to find it.
Thanks,
Steve
Al,
What is likely to happen if I put in the new drive and do not hook up the tachs? Just some kind of error from the control if it doesn't work?
Thanks,
Steve
Al,
+/- 10v DC.
Thanks,
Steve
Al, is there any downside to running in velocity mode?
Thanks,
Steve
I called AMC and they said that the B25A20 will take Tach feedback and can run a brushed motor. However, I didn’t see the post about torque mode prior to calling. Can’t I just run the drive in...
Thanks for the manuals Jim.

Al,
The Anilam doesn't have an encoder. It uses glass scales for position feedback.
Should I take out the tach and install an encoder?
Thanks for the help!
-Steve
Jim,
What is the best way to clean the old scales? Don't they have a seal inside to keep you from being able to get to the glass?
Mine are pretty well protected, but I know since I have had the...
Al,
So with the BLDC drive I do not need to hook the tachs to the servo drives? How does the drive receive the feedback on motor speed?
Thanks,
Steve
Jim... no encoders on the Anilam Crusader M milling Machine. It uses glass scale feedback.
Thanks,
Steve
I thought I read somewhere that it is possible to drive a brushed dc servo motor with a brushless servo drive?
The servo motors are 140v SEM and right now are driven by Servo Dynamics 1525-10...
I have an Anilam Crusader M 3-Axis Mill with Westamp Servo Drives. The machine started to hunt for position and would not hold zero when at home. It would dither back and forth around zero by up to...
Thank you everyone. I think I am going to go with the Allin1DC. I will add US Digital E5 encoders to the end of the shafts in the SEM motors. I appreciate everyone's help.
Has anyone else used...
I have an older Anilam Crusader M 3 Axis Mill and would like to retro-fit with the Acorn. However, I would like to keep my DC power supply and also my SEM servo motors. The voltage on the DC power...
I have an Anilam Crusader M 3 axis milling machine that has ran great. Yesterday, after about 8 hours of machining, the x-axis started to chirp. It sounded like a harmonic chirp coming from the servo...
Gibbs sent me another thing to try and it worked. It has returned to the bottom right part of the screen. It is below in case you ever experience it.
