You would have to buy the CN2 mating connector,...

Didn't read the whole thread but it sounds like you may need a two signal (step/dir) differential driver, which may cost ~$10.
ignore this post
Other motor wires could be a 24V brake, is it easy to spin by hand?
The white block is likely encoder wires, which should connect to CN2.

Anyone know how realistic this statement on MTW from top-tech is:
Even if it is a few years off bearing life, probably worth it for R8 imo.

180V spindle motor would work best with the granite drive (or some other HV capable drive) and an encoder (~$40)
48V servos should work fine with gecko, just depends if you want to spend the extra...
Sure, if its reasonably rated. Additional output capacitance might help.
If its adequately cooled. You will notice in the rcgroups thread a propeller was added to the top. Since you are dealing...
I was just going to ask if its do-able to re-cut the taper :).
Experiment :)
My rapids are all the same, I think Z acceleration is lower.
Initially I had problems with the Z vibrating, tightening the two side clamps then adjusting the gib fixed it.

Rohm supra doesn't seem to list a run-out spec from a quick search. Spiro is ~$200 and lists 0.0028".
Shars has chuck A which is $24 and doesn't list runout, chuck B is $45 with the 0.0024 runout...
It is a pulse train and not a DC voltage, but the meter should read something proportional.
Is the jumper to set pins 2-9 as outputs correct?
Did weiss show any interest in using your design?

I agree. I don't have a problem with it at all.
But I wouldn't let your "designer" off the hook so easily :).
I use something like this: http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/3069/chipshieldup0.jpg but with wider plexi and using loc-line attached to the head of the mill.
This just prevents it from flying...
Clearly he is lying to you.
yes, I use one hand on each keyboard.
I don't understand the question, you can't program a cnc router and a punch press with the same code.
Great picture, thanks for posting
modbus would be a good place to start.
cool design, english webpage is here: http://en.uirobot.com/robot-index.html
Sorry, yes, you should verify that the output of the supplies is isolated from chassis. Also that no voltage isolation specs are being exceeded.
Run two of these in series: KL-350-36 36V/9.7A $60
Outputs are adjustable by 10% if necessary.
yeah
If they are normally closed, wire in series. Normally open, wire in parallel.
NC is preferable if you have both terminals.
