I can never get my dial indicator even close enough to sweep my gang block holes.Seems like you'd have to be really close to even start sweeping with an indicator?

Any advice on turning titanium OD and OD threading and rigid tapping (1/4-20)? I machine mainly aluminum and copper. Seems Ti can be a bear to work with. Feeds and speeds advice?

SOLVED! Updated from 1.9.5 to 1.9.6b and it works. Bug #1166 was apparently a rigid tapping issue that was fixed in the 1.9.6 update.

I've hit Cycle Start and nothing happens. Even though the M01/BREAK is active, the Feed Hold indicator is not lit at any point. I'll be trying to update from 1.9.5 to 1.9.6 this morning, to see if...

I'm trying to rigid tap via PathPilot conversational. 1/2-20 thread. My first rigid tap try.
I have it all setup and when I hit Cycle Start, the spindle fires up and the Z advances to the .1000 tool...

Think I'll hang on to the Tormach at least through July or August. If my situation doesn't change at that time, I'll probably commit to selling it.

So I just got the Tormach lathe uncrated but I can't see a way to lift the lathe off of the pallet. Is the lifting kit required? I don't have the lifting kit but I do have a forklift.

Just a quick post that if any of you folks ever have a chance to attend one of Tormach's workshops, do it! I attended the last weeks workshop and it was fantastic to have all of Tormach's expertise...

What knurling tool do you guys use to diamond knurl on aluminum and brass? I typically work with bar stock from about 5/8" to 1" in diameter.
Tormach doesn't sell a knurler, specific to them....

So with the Tormach Slant, you can't generally mount directly to the gang plate, but you NEED the riser block, right? So then it's possible, that if you have several holders, you'd need few riser...
