I went by the instructions and calibrated to the MDF bolted to the machine. I just repeated the instructions again this morning.
If I hit E-stop power stays on to the servo's, verified that by...
Yes it is an ATC, 8 position rack.
It uses WINCNC and has a tool measure pad. I checked it for loose wires and such but looks fine inside.
To set Z levels I touch off on the spoilboard or work...
Yes I always home it on start-up. The machine won't do anything else. E-stop is just a habit I guess.
It has servo motors and homes to a limit switch. I will have to find out about the last 2 questions.
Thanks for the reply Todd.
I am having an issue with my router which is only 2 years old with part-time use. I now realize this issue was there from day one.
I would often being cutting too deep or too high by up to .040",...
Just curious if anyone can comment on their set-up if using a 4th axis. I finally got to doing a dry run tonight but not successfully.
When I talked to SS help they told me I didn't need a...
I've had good experience shopping at Tools today Router bits, Saw blades, CNC Router Bits, Shaper Cutters & More Plenty of info on their site or you can contact them for recommendations.
Well shoot, you're going to be having fun the first day you get it running. That first cut is always an exciting moment.
What are you going to use your machine for? Just curious if you have any previous CNC experience.
I managed to surface my burl tonight, thanks for all the help! It weighed 75 lbs before machining. I tried a few different approaches to get the best surface finish.
Climb and conventional, offset...
OK looks like I had the Home /Start position going from the spoilboard but I guess it references from the material top, duh on my part !
This is my own CNC I recently bought with Aspire, I'm used...
Well it mentioned disabling limits in the Camheads thread but it still got a Z error when I typed in L21 (disable) it automatically ran L20(enable) in the code following the error message.
I'll...
I am having trouble cutting anything just over 4", with a Z limit error coming up.
Only thing in the ShopSabre manual is that G37 sets lower Z limit and calibrates switch. Poorly worded or I'm...
I managed to do a few projects on it so far. Single stage compressor is running almost steady to keep up with the spindle air, even though its a 230v 15 amp 30 gal ingersol Rand. I have a 80 gal 2...
OK worked it out and managed to run a test pattern. Instructions I think are a little out of order. One should clear any offsets first and tool measure, then calibrate.
OK finally got wiring done to the CNC and am following the instructions. Homing all axis went fine.
Put a tool into spindle. This is not clear in the instructions but it asks to touch " bit " to MDF...
Well CNC finally arrived last Friday and was able to transfer to a tilting flatbed and dump it into my garage. I initially thought I would slide the whole skid into the shop but with a 84" high...
Thanks for the info Jay. I got a 5 Hp ATC spindle. I'm on single phase so that's pretty much my max.
Controlling the vacuum by WINCNC would be great, I guess one can set up their dust collector as...
I was told my machine should hit the floor for testing and be ready to ship by the end of the week. I sure hope the 4th axis comes with it and I don't have to wait. I also hope it works half...
I'm still waiting will be 13 weeks Wednesday. They were delayed on servo drive amps from Mitsubishi I was told.. What are you using your machine for MK?
I didn't learn much at the training session. They went over V-carve pro but I already have Aspire and quite capable with it. It was a 1350 km drive for me but me and my girls made a trip out of it....
I have a 4896 due late May or early June. I ordered the 4th axis and 8 position ATC ( 5 with 3 free promo ). I have a 5 hp spindle set up for single phase.
I will be running out of a small garage...
