Those 40w hobby type lasers go for round $499 ex china.. and to be blunt , they are utter crap. No reputable chinese laser mnfgr will recommend one (even if they make them) and some wont sell you one...

I would be very wary of buying an open machine to cut rubber , most of the 2500 x 1250 machines are open machines, and 8mm might be too thick for even a 150W tube ..

We do 100's of paint filled lasered acrylic pieces a day. The biggest problem is that acrylic becomes stressed when lasered , worse with extruded vs cast acrylic.
So ideally you want to use cast...

Laserworks 6 is a more than capable program/driver/whatever , and to run it you would normally have to use a RDLC320 motherboard , which is also a very capable unit.
