    Re: 1100M Y Axis Growling/Groaning

Perplexing. Can you jog back and forth without the noise? If it doesn't make noise when jogging, do a PP routine to machine a pocket (in air) or something? Good luck, Bruce

    Re: TTS R8 collet

Yes, you are correct. The TTS collet draws its nose up into the spindle, so the datum surface is the surface of the spindle, not the collet end. My mistake, thanks for setting me straight!

    Re: TTS R8 collet

I'd think you'd need a different offset for different collets. TTS nets off the ground surface after the collet is drawn hone with a 3/4" tool in place. Multiple collets would need to be identical...

You will have to split it for 6' clearance. I bought a 1100S3 that was in a framed/temp controlled room in a pole barn with standard 6'8" door jams. We pulled the Z-axis motor to get it under the jam...

    Re: conversational programming names

If it's something you would like changed or at least looked at, I'd go ahead and post a query. I commented about really liking PathPilot as at the time I developed the routine in our house, dumped...
  6. Re: Long unwind of 4th axis when going from live turning back to 3+1

Can you manually insert some code with a G92 to reset your position? I ran a manually coded routine to cut a helical gear with my 4th. It ended up doing a rotation of 466 degrees in my routine. It...

I'd say it's a fair price. I bought a comparable machine without the enclosure but had an ATC for $16k.

  10. Tool table convention on radius end mills

I'm still a strictly G-code guy, though this applies to CAD too.

If I have a 0.125" radius end mill (for example), I mic the OD of the tool for cutter diameter (say 0.500 for my example) and...
  11. Re: Great small compressor for Tormach Pneumatic Tool Changer and coolant sprayer

Thanks for the info. I bought the one that's a size bigger and there's no doubt when it kicks on. Glad to hear the quiet one can run a draw bar and ATC. Might have to go on a shopping trip.

No tool path preview on PathPilot hub

I'm still a G-code guy and use the hub to debug routines in our house. I'm running 2.7.1 on my 1100S3 and see hub is running 2.7.0. I was trying to debug some routine changes the last couple of days...
