As PMT mentioned, you should check for backlash in your Z axis ballscrew. Also check for tool deflection. What spindle RPM are you running?
Thanks for the write up and pic's. It's nice for all of us who could not attend.

Parameter 13 and 14.
13 is max positive travel.
14 is max negative travel.

Your processor is more than likely kaput and will need to be replaced. Be sure you have removed your RS232 and try again. If still the same thing call your dealer.

Probably the spindle encoder. Unless you have a methods for checking one or know someone who can your best bet is to try and replace it. Before you do, inspect the cable and connectors carefully.

They do. It is what a "CRC" alarm is (Cycle/Cyclic Redundancy Check). It's just a simple form of checking and it occurs at power on.

Chances are you have a dual wound spindle motor. Probably a 10K spindle without a gearbox.

Tim,
The air you feel coming out of the spindle is a positive air flow and the small air regulator for it is behind the machine. It should be set to 17psi. It should only occur when the spindle...

If so, is your problem as extreme as JoBwan's?
