    Re: Dm4400m spindle motor?

I picked up the first two off of eBay for $150 each.
    The third one was $225.

    Re: Dm4400m spindle motor?

I run my DM4400 spindle motors with the Bardac (Sprint) 3600XRi.
Uses all amps the drive can put out.
Perfect rpm control and it runs warm but not hot.
Just buying a drive vs. trying to jam a new...

    Re: CAT30 collet chucks

Looks like I have five CAT30 tool holders left.
Two Sanvik C8 collet chucks. Super high precision. Great for holding edge finders and other measuring devices.
Two Lyndex end mill holders. One 5/8"...

    Re: DM4400 pull studs

    Yeah, they are all gone.
You can get new ones from Retention Knob Supply.
    Almost $30 each though.

I sold most of the CAT30 tool holders and all of the pull studs.
Let me dig around and see what I have left.

    Re: Dyna Mechtronics VMC DM4322G

It's been really quiet here for the last while.

As for the software, very few have later model Dyna's.

I wish I could help but all of mine have been retrofitted with new controls.

    You would...

Re: Concerns about f Haas VF1/VF2 height.

Both the VF1 and the VF have the same exterior dimensions.
Total operating height required is 110" but I would recommend a little more than that.
    Shipping height is 101" though.
    After squeezing it...

    Re: DM 4400 tooling

    Hi Martin!

Yes, the bigger tools cause massive amounts of fretting and even pull out if you take a big enough bite.
There is definitely a problem with the amount of clamping force available...

Re: What BT30 pull studs does a DM2800 use?

Recommended torque on the pull studs is 25 to 35 ft/lbs. I use the lower number.
I also put anti seize on the threads and face. Makes it real easy for switching them out later.
    I haven't counted...

    Yes.

You'll always spend too much on tooling. :)

I have attached the DM pull stud drawing for you.

Re: cutter vibration or machine fault?

    Thanks for the reply bishb25,

I did change a few setting within BobCAD but I didn't see any differences when running the part.

Re: cutter vibration or machine fault?

I rotated the part and ran a few different versions.
The marks moved with the part to the new location.
First ball end mill was in a side lock tool holder.
Second one is in an ER20 collet.

    No high speed machining.
A G187 seems like it's just a G09 but for the whole program.

I switched out the cutter for a new super high quality one and even put it in a...

    Re: WHAT IS THIS?!?!?

Re: cutter vibration or machine fault?

    I don't think a G09 will help.
I added a small 5 thou radius in all the tight corners so the cutter wouldn't have to stop and it still makes those lines.
I reduced rpm and cut the feed rate in...

    cutter vibration or machine fault?

I'm machining some cool 3d parts and some sections have odd cutter marks.
It's as if the ball nose end mill is cutting at slightly different depths.

I have something like that on my VF0E.
It was for hanging the washdown hose on the back of the machine.
Yours is a bit smaller so I'd say it's for hanging your air line blow gun on.

    Where is it...

Re: Deep hole drilling on a HAAS HMC

    It's a 1.375" hole 13" deep. With a flat bottom.
I would need a huge VMC to fit that in so I was thinking HMC.
Make sure the tool clears the work and let the back end stick out a bit.

Deep hole drilling on a HAAS HMC

I'm quoting on some new work and one of the operations is deep hole drilling.
