    Re: HAAS P-Cool

Positive its coming from the P-Cool (programmable coolant) as in my initial post I stated "I took the cover off and along with the wiring there's a small 1/8" tube blowing air non stop."
  3. Re: CamWorks changes units from inch to metric during post processing

Your default machine might be Metric in the TechDB. Set up a default machine in Inches.

What is the purpose of this?

    Re: HAAS Drives

Yes it is an SS machine.....I guess I didn't realize a tool changer had a drive. Looked in a couple other machines and they didn't have a drive for the tool changer. Thanks for the info

  8. Re: loading tools using their pocket number in G Code on Haas CNC mill

I see what your saying, unfortunately I don't think there's much of a work around for this. I've had some very small high quantity jobs that had 3-4 tools, doing something quick, spot drill, drill,...
  9. Re: Tool Length Offsets using Pre-Set Tooling

I have a tool holder tightening fixture I machined to match the CAT40 taper. My holders sit on the taper in the fixture on a surface plate and I use a digital height stand and set the height stand to...
  10. Re: loading tools using their pocket number in G Code on Haas CNC mill

As bhurts stated, I believe there is a way to do that and it tool changes like an umbrella changer does, you wont be able to pre-load a tool. I believe what it does is it grabs say T1 thats in P1 and...
  11. Re: loading tools using their pocket number in G Code on Haas CNC mill

What are trying to accomplish? The pocket #'s are random. T1 could start in P1 but once you start changing tools it will change pocket numbers. I don't believe there is any way to utilize a P# in a...

I use it for short basic codes, calling up edge finder...

Re: Tool Release Piston - Shims

Yes, solenoids sound like they are functioning properly. Any way to test to verify? Somebody did mention possibly moisture in solenoid from traveling and temp change?

I am in Minnesota and the machine traveled in 32 degree weather for 4 hours, would it be in my best interest to give it a week or so to warm up and re check everything?

    Tool Release Piston - Shims

I picked up a 2005 HAAS VF2SS over the weekend and set it up.

I wasn't able to get the spindle to take a tool. The draw bar wasn't coming down far enough. I ended up following HAAS 30/40 Taper -...

Re: setting 4th axis tilted for clearance

You'll need to draw a plane at the desired angle and create a coordinate system and new operation on that same plane to use.

Re: The future of CAM , why not now ?

I have been using CAMWorks for quite some time now, it has a feature based machining option, it pulls out features and finds the best tooling for the job. Out of the box, it does what it can. I've...
