    Re: 180i MB M code

Why not just use the Mcode macro call already built in the the Fanuc? No ladder mods needed. It's all in the manual, or here...

    Re: optical switch help

Depends, NPN or PNP type ? May need a pull up or pull down resistor as well. Some interface boards have the pull up/down built in.
  4. Re: Student organization looking to build CNC milling machine for school donation

Depending on where you are, don't overlook safety interlocks as well. ANSI B11 is quite clear what you need to have, and it's not minor by any means. Most schools will not even accept used proven...
  5. Re: Are Metal Shavings / Dust Hazardous?

Are they cutting wet with coolant, or dry. Are the doors just plain steel, already primed/painted or another rust preventative coating? Plain steel chip hazard is pretty much just skin abrasion.

    Re: Bubble memory

Why would you buy something you don't even know if your machine is old enough to use it?

The last controls I know of to use bubble were Fanuc 10/11 series and Okuma 5000 controls. Both stopped by...

    Re: Scary VM10U problems

Like we say, Hurco is cheap on the front end, but they will get you bad on the backend. As far as service though, I find them to be responsive to emails. Can't say the same about service on some...
  8. Re: FANUC Oi MATE-TD feedrate ovverride and handle not working

I agree a picture would help, if the op panel is a builder made one, my guess is you have a broken 5VDC wire in the back.

    No m19 on an old LB15 ;)

I've seen this many many times :)
  10. Re: OKUMA LB15 SPINDLE DRIVE BREAK TIME

Your problem in not a parameter or drive unit. Your belts are loose.
  11. Re: Which water mixture to use for water cooled spindle ...

It's only to verify your address. You have to live in the county you drop it off in.

  13. Re: Early 80's LB15 X axis thrust bearing access/replacement

Hope you have a surface grinder..
Okumas use a ground shim to set bearing pre-load on most of the machines. This is ok if you can get an exact matched set, but being that old and newer bearings not...

    Re: Gerry 2010 auto zero

Agree. I have the dual zero plate on mine, one in the spoilboard and one movable. Makes long runs much easier.

Re: TREE 425 CUTTING OUT OF ROUND

The lag or servo error is just to display a value. Actual adjustment is done with a jewelers screwdriver adjusting pots on the axis drive card. Usually tach or sig gets them right in. Basically, you...

Re: TREE 425 CUTTING OUT OF ROUND

Yes it does. Those machines use DC motors usually Baldor in the later ones. All DC drive machines need to be tuned on occasion. I don't remember how to get to the servo error/axis lag page on that...

Re: Live tooling on Okuma LB25 IIM

Should leave a reasonable finish, hows the turret alignment? If it's off, the milling drive system may not be lined up causing some binding.

Check the belt and pulley. Can you slide the head easily by hand? Sounds like it's trying to reference.

Re: Okuma lb 15 osp 5000L-G Software

Doesn't look like a bubble error there. That looks like a bus error for the fiber interface, like a dead operator panel or I/O...you unplug cables and put them in the wrong spot possibly?

    Re: Lifting Bridgeport VMC 500/16

Re: Okuma lb 15 osp 5000L-G Software

The floppy set for the LB15 requires not only the floppy drive, but also has a interface board that has to slide in to the OSP rack. It's not just parameters, once the bubble goes, you have to...
