Your gantry could be racking slightly. I have a FLA-100 also and I did the anti racking cable mod seen here...

There's a hole in the front of the motor mount, kind of hard to see.

here is how I did my z axis.

I made a grid of 1 x 1 inch squares with v bit on my mdf cnc top. I put the x0 y0 in the center of the part that I am machining.

I use a miter saw with a non-ferrous metal cutting saw blade. I wouldn't use a cutting wheel.

I've also used a regular carbide tipped blade as well, with a wd40 as a lubricant.

I use Mach 3 for my controller, and Vectric Aspire for Cad and Cam
