Now, THAT looks like a circuit I would create a PCB for. Maybe even order for EasyEDA. https://easyeda.com/
This is a very simple circuit. If this is a one and only thing then you could make a drawing using white paper and pen, scan it into a PDF format and convert to g-code using a freeware. If you want...
Try this:

Thank you very much. I'll try it out as soon as I have time.
Why not...? What's wrong with steppers...? I have never had any problems with steppers, but you have to know how to control them. Anyway, where is the connection between buying cars and buying...
It's been a long time ago I posted any updates regarding this project, I was simply busy with some other activities, some hobby related some not, so I had no time to post anything.
It's time again...
Not easy to help from that description... Unknown CNC, unknown electronics, unknown wiring... a lot of unknown but important facts. When you say "it sparks" do you mean literally? In that case you...
I stopped buying Dell computers a long time ago. I always buy HP, have and have had several laptops and desktops and I am very happy with them. Just be careful when you buy one, don't buy any PC with...
I don't think I can give you any ideas, as those screws are huge and I have no idea about what you need or want and what your budget is. Personally I think you are starting at the wrong end. It is...
Hi,
I have recently bought a 3D probe. Originally, I planned to make one, but due to lack of time I decided not to. I realized that regardless how I do it, my own won't be better than any one I can...
I am glad that my information helped you out. Good luck using the server PSUs. Just be careful... it outputs a lot of power, so you should add some fuses on the secondary side, just in case...
Mine shows exactly the same RPM as the motor is running with. I checked using a servo motor and precise pulses, and at least between the range of 1 - 3000 RPM, the inexpensive tachometer shows...
Thank you.
It is quite easy, but you must be handy and know what you are doing. Don't just cut the earth, as some internet heroes are doing, because that makes your PSU extremely dangerous to...
This is what I have been working on the last two weeks, it's a huge power supply, providing 50V 82A (4kW) to supply DC power which is enough for all my DC driven machines if I'd want to connect...
You have seen, but never actually printed. In other words, you have no idea... :)
The choice of materials and the skill is always important, no matter what method you prefer.
That depends on the 3D printer itself, the material used, the way it is printed, the skill of the guy using the printer and creating the job... and so on. It is not as simple as you are stating.
RS485 and Modbus is much older than Mach3... :)
You can control the VFD with Modbus but only if your VFD understands real Modbus. Not all cheap Chinese VFD does that even if the manual states that it does. Mach3 needs a Brain file to communicate....
The last video of 2021, before popping the Champagne...
I am finally ready enough to use my lathe manually, and in fact have even used for more than just testing, in this video I am...
Thank you. I understand that rigidity is one of the keys to success, but for me it is also about portability. I also have no intentions to run any heavy duty jobs, just want to play around with it....
I don't know how interesting this thread is, but here are some updates regarding my "poor man's lathe". I am now ready with the actual basic design and first version of my DIY micro lathe. So far...
"It works" is not the definition of "it is right". Also, just because it is working today it doesn't mean it will work tomorrow.
You will try the HC245 if you connect outputs in parallel. Only open collector and open drain outputs can be connected the way you did and the HC245 is not open an drain chip. Besides, what is the...
OK, it is still a bit unclear. Try this:
Are you doing a two step probing? Fast probing (step 1) and then retract and slow probing (step 2) for better accuracy? Answer yes or no.
Is it doing a...
I think you need to measure continuity, not just "feel" or look at it. Also, when you test, don't let it run down to the table, but touch the tip of the mill to see that it really stops in time....
Sounds like you have an electrical problem of some sort. Perhaps a lose wire or something similar.
What sort of touch probe are you using?
Where does the RPM reading comes from? Is it from an external meter, or from the VFD? It sounds like you have a very bad and poor quality D/A converter. Perhaps the AXBBE is faulty, or it is...
It is the rubber hitting and releasing the grooves and rubbing against the sides of the pulleys, plus the motor holder which I think is not rigid enough, so there is some resonance. In this video I...
Actually, most of the noise comes from the belt and that weird motor holder I had to make for this quick test installation.
Btw, I did go through all the parameters and tuned the motor, but not...
