Weeks old post I know but still curious as to why a company or person would make all the apples in the bunch responsible for a few bad ones? Wouldn't this cause issues with everyone, instead of just...
for future ref,,the standalone keypad is a plug and play unit.
The cable needs to be a standard cable,cat5,and no program changes
on the the drive.
Has anyone hooked one up and used the "ope-sr"
keypad for their vfd?
The owners manual does not show the wiring for the
hook up between the drive and the ope-sr.
It does show that pins...
md63825 "Which spindle nose type do you have (A, D, L, etc.)?"
The lathe I have is a Hardinge Chucker(HCT) copy
A Tsugami with 2 and 3/16 od by 10 pitch threads for the spindle mount.

thanks for for the feedback, I figured I was heading in that direction.
I'll be patient and wait for a backplate.
Any other ideas for backplates besides e-bay
What do you think would be more usefull
a 4 jaw indepent chuck or a face plate of same dia.?
I have a 4-jaw chuck and need a backing plate to mount it to a
hardinge spindle which doesn't seem...
I wired it to the "bottom right", and the machine runs AWESOME!
smooth, quiet and the Hitachi Drive is nice to use!
Thanks to all for your help, I finally am able to use the machine!
As usuall...
xcellent Idea Al, thank you man!

"It's more than that. Looks like you have a multi wound motor. You have low speed set, a high speed set, and a high voltage set of each from the drawing."
true but it is running as...
A 3ph motor in a machine I am going to be hooking a Hitachi 220volt output
VFD to, has 3 lead wires for the motor that are marked U11 V11 W11,
and 3 more that are marked U12 V12 W12.
I am...
The data plate does say hi + lo voltage and hi + lo speed.
Thanks Al
I'll check out the VFD intructions. Hitachi said it should
be no problem. I won't do any wiring untill I am positive...
I am thinking the smart thing to do would be to purchase a VFD and wire it directly
to the motor.
I am looking into purchasing a VFD from Hitachi and notice their are only
three connections that go to the motor, unless I am missing something in
the manual.
The motor I'm using has 6...
Working on getting a Tsugami model T-SPL turret lathe running.
This was running in a shop consistently with no problems with 3phase
input from the mains up untill it started tripping one of the...
Yes I agree Bob, an oil system is a must have unless use of the machine is
limited . I think the grooves are the way to go, nice job.
I am gonna try a dremel maybe, and or thinking of using
a die...
The switch should be easy to turn not hard , and lock into the three positions with a solid click AS ALL THE CONTACTS COME TOGETHER IN THAT
POSITION.
unplug your machine and take the cover off the...
I will keep an eye on your progress , here and at your site.
I plan on doing the same , just have to figure out how when
I own just one machine.
Sorry it's a dc servo setup , typical transformer/bridge/cap .
I removed a power supply from a line printer last night and am gonna use
it too test the motors with and it should work fine
That's a good idea, do you suggest a slot in the x + y axis also?
Yeah I was thinking of batteries but don't have any, and after thinking about a voltage divider resistor setup
just ain't worth setting up, and i have tons of time into this project any how so a...
My next step in testing my setup is to tune/test the motors . The instructions say to use a lower motor voltage initially,"even 24volts will work for a 200v motor " it just won't have full speed or...
I have finished a power supply that is going to be used for rutex drives
and my next step is to test+tune the motors without being hooked up to
any mechanicals , the output of the supply is 86v and...
In answer to your 1rst post Runner ,,yes we would like to see as much about

It's awesome to see IH reply as quickly as they do when it comes to

Thanks neilw20, I have the instructions for the exact wiring , and do not intend to wire it any differently than what is called for .
I was only trying to see if I was missing something about the...
Hi neilw20,
so if i am understanding this right , because it is rated at 800watts,
that is what is to determine the primary wiring configuration ,
at 115v / parralel / it will be able to handle...
I purchased a y236905 from avel lindberg.

I see for 115v ac...
Yeah your right , it's a shame practical jokes don't mean
what they used to mean, especially when you think that someone making 30$ bucks an hour as a manager or foreman has to go out of his way...
I wish Gene a lot of luck with his new venture, does he
have a different website than the old IH website or is that still the one to use ?
shopboy nice to hear from you , welcome aboard. I just got thru checking out your new machine , nice ! I have seen the
original versions before but not any of the newer ones
