    Re: Quill Oil Seal J250/350

Leather? The replacements I’ve seen on eBay for other Tree models were all rubber. The cap is recessed into the boss and no way to get a grip on it to pry it out.

    Quill Oil Seal J250/350

    Hi all,
I’m needing to replace the Quill seal on my J250. ZPS doesn’t have any in stock so I was planning on designing and 3D printing a replacement. I’m attempting to remove it now so I can glean...

Re: G84 tapping - not rigid

My issue is resolved. In case anyone cares — this control didn’t like an L (dwell value) of 3.xx decimal places. I shortened it to Lx.x and no more error.

    G84 tapping - not rigid

    Hi all,
I’m fairly new to CNC programming and am having an issue. I’m attempting to code a simple G84 tapping cycle and keep getting a format error on the control.

    Way lube pressure switch

I'm trying to run down an MTB 20 alarm (lube pressure switch) on my Tree J-250. I had this before and it seemed to go away after I reset the K10 relay. I'm thinking my pressure switch is bad and...

    Re: Tree 320 Lives Again

Very nice work jknee2 and fahrphrompuken! I love to see the old iron brought back to its former glory. Last year I picked up a tree j-250 with the Dynapath 40m control. These trees are built like an...

    Re: Journeyman Y Axis noise/vibration

Update: I was able to resolve my issue with the Y axis. The mill had sat unused for several months before firing it up this time. I cycled the lube pump multiple times and jogged the axis back and...

    Journeyman Y Axis noise/vibration

I have a J-250 mill which has developed rough movement in the y axis. I’m getting vibration and rough movement while jogging at medium speed. Occasional, it throws a y axis servo error. I first...

    Metering Units

My J 250 manual indicates "Vogel Doser 10" lube oil metering units with a total of 15 installed. I'm pretty sure I have some partially if not fully plugged as I have a couple on the saddle ways that...

Confirmed over the weekend that is indeed what it is. I blew some air through it to clear a clog and it immediately started dripping lube oil.

    Re: Journeyman Mill question

That’s what I was leaning towards but didn’t want to assume. I’m thinking you’re correct since the lubrication diagram made no mention of it.

    Journeyman Mill question

I think this is my 3rd post in about as many days. I figure the only dumb question is the one that isn’t asked. So I have this mysterious tube line coming out from under the head near the spindle...

Boy you ain’t kidding! I had contacted devco to see about a manual for this pump or similar. He told me it’s obsolete and no manual available but he’d quote me a new one. Wouldn’t give me a manual...

    Re: Tree journeyman Fault

Okay - my issue with the Vogel lube pump is resolved. I tracked down the controlling relay (KA-10), cleaned, reseated, and the pump kicked on at first power up. I cycled power a few times to build up...

    Re: Tree journeyman Fault

Cycled the machine multiple times over an hour or so, still no joy with ladder 20 fault. I checked the wiring diagram and see the Vogel power comes through FU8 and then a relay, K10. Going to check...

I don't see any inline filter after the line leaving the pump. There are at least 3 junction blocks. The Machine manual shows a "Filter Pipe" inside of the manifold and a couple of the junction...
