ok sounds simple. but im new to mastercam and am trying to use mastercamX.
so i want to surface the top of a 8*6" block and there is a 2"diameter boss of to one side of center. and 1" above p/l....

i want to machine simple letters into a piece of steel. the only pencil line type font i see is bobcad font... ok good it'l work...
so now i type all capital letters and the word HANGER and bobcam...

when i circle mill a diameter of 1.125 on the mill the circle is large by .002 at a 45* angle to x-y travel.

i do have bobart but have never used it.
when i use v carv it cuts the outline of the letters instead of down the center.
ofsetting can be a real pain on letters like (s) ect.

the text that is offered is all block type letters except for the bobcad font which is line type letters but they made them goofy shapes... for instance the ( l) looks like a small (J) but...

encoder on top of spindle motor was off location.

took off spindle motor to replace bad bearings. marked spindle and motor location before removing belts.
but now that its back together the spindle orientation is off for a tool change i think....

yes got everything. i just though you might have part numbers for a better type of high speed bearings,

how do you project a 3d wire frame onto a x-y surface...
you can trim a line to screen wich the z depth does not matter.
wouldnt it be easyto dimension screen so anything picked would be flat, no z...

i had to use the 3d evgrave for a tool path and edit my offset at the machine to drop .125 deep in .005 incriments.
which is a major pain in the butt. cant program...
