I'm looking for spec sheet for MCG 1H23014 steppers. I have a digital copy somewhere, but can't locate it right now. Does anyone have a copy? I got mine from MCG a couple years ago, but can't find...
What hoss said, and at the end of the program you tell the machine to go to 0,0,0 the axis that missed steps won't be at 0.
I haven't read it yet, but did you see this? I don't have an X3 either, was just looking at the site.

Another G-10 part rfq. I need to cut some of this stuff and see how it cuts. Me thinks it'll be nasty.

Doesn't NAFTA make shipping easy? How big are the parts?

Not sure if it would have anything to do with it, but if you open the MPG thingy (TAB key) what does your "Slow Jog" say?
What drivers are you using? Might get a better answer if that was known.
doesn't work in a program? MDI? Both?
If I can find a small bit today I might try and run your program on my CNC Taig.
The idea of accumulated math error makes some sense to me. Your routing program goes over 1, down 1, back to...

Yes, basically I will use the machine for crown moldings. Do you know any advantage between screw and belt driven?
Not sure it would matter in your case, you'll need screws as far as I can tell. ...
Bummer on the virus. Glad to hear the seller helped out.
Yeah, I don't know the difference either. Doesn't seem like the foamcutter would be running at very fast speeds so I'm sure that a...
Okay.
If you're using Rhino, try opening both of those drawings. I have v4, I had problems with both.

Still looking for quotes? Would you be willing to supply the plywood?
Can you post a bit of the code? If it looks like 5-10mm straight segments then it doesn't seem like it's going to get any better than you got.

You might want to check your servo tuning. If that doesn't do it, you might (if you can) move the encoders around to different motors and see if the problem follows the encoder.
In Mach click...
Any thoughts on making the manual available as a download? I have no way of knowing if the product is something I can, reading the manual would help out in this regard. Otherwise, great looking...
You can use a 1/2" end mill with the Taig, after a bit. Get the ER-16 spindle (goes to 3/8") and a 1/2" end mill tool holder from one of a couple companies making them. I have one, haven't tried it...
I would suppose that anything with a thread form could be used as a lead screw. That's not saying anything about any accuracy issues.
For a nut, you could form your own using Moglice, or make a...
The pins are explained on page 2 of the manual. If you are only running the motors you only need pins 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. What program are you using to control the machine, Mach3 maybe? It would help...
So you connected the X or Y motor to the Z output and it stayed rough? If it did that eliminated the motor as the problem.
How about this, I'm assuming the TurboTaig board is between the PC and...
Did you try running the motor while it was disconnected from the screw?
Monte
These? If so, yeah, just mount them on edge to the side or bottom of the enclosure.

So when you walk away an inch, does the table move an inch (1.000") AND the DRO indicates the same inch (1.000")? Have you tried moving further in the same direction?
Monte
That's good. If you aren't sending g-code to the controller telling the motors to move they should be locked if the controller is on. Turn the controller off if you want to turn them by hand.

I haven't taken the time to read all the posts, but it looks good so far. I have the new screen loaded.
A question, I just got a touch probe working for digitizing objects. It is a NC touch...
Look for "Astrosyn" and the type number. I did and got a page or two, one in german, but it didn't look like it had any info on voltage or current.
Monte
Post your .xml file. Might be mach3mill.xml I have a Taig also and Mach works great.
