Yep, I downloaded the latest version and was pretty impressed. They now support engineering units, inches, mils, mm's.
I went to the 3D warehouse and found a guy who is building a library of 8020...
Zoltan,
That reminds me, when I received my LG3040 I could not get it to line up for anything. Then we took a close look at the hardware. The 90 degree mirror was slightly lifted in it's holder....
Zoltan,
At which mirror do you lose the ability to center the beam in the middle of the mirror?, 1st?, 2nd?, 3rd?
KingRabbit,
Please tell us a little about yourself.
Where do you live?
What do you do for a living?
What kinds of things are you planning on doing with your laser?
Do you like the Bronco’s?
Vanton;
My guess is one or two of the home sensors are not working...
Here are some possible problem areas to check:
1. Find out were home sensors are and make sure the flag is passing cleanly...
I think you will like the blue film, just keep your boards super clean, and preheating can help. I have had my best results with an el-cheapo laminator. Harbor Freight sells those for <$25.00 I...
You will want to fill those pads and vias, either with software or Sharpie marker.
The holes are much too big, and the traces around them are way thin, that will cause lots of pain for you when you...
Sound's way cool!!!!
Could you post some pictures?
KTP has a point, given the life of the tube it is reasonable to expect to have to change the tube a few times over the lifetime of the laser engraver. Some of us know how to deal with high voltage...
There are sprays and coatings that allow you to laser mark aluminum.
Here's the one I know of, http://www.ferro.com/Our+Products/Glass/Products+and+Markets/CerMark/Products/LMM-6000.htm
I'm sure...
Made_In_China;
I have found your input and comments to be very informative and useful. I had a hard time understanding the dynamics of the Chinese laser market until you started writing, and you...
hkxy;
Made_In_China sounds just like you...
Are you Made_In_China? :)
You probably have this already, but there is a manual at the Ink Express site for the IE300... It has some coverage on beam alignment.

Yep, I was meaning the Z-axis...
They did not offer the polarizer back when I bought it, sounds like a nice feature though...
Leo;
Would it be possible for you to post a list of consumable parts and prices for the 3040? Things like lenses, mirrors, laser tube, etc.
I think people would be more inclined to take the...
Ink Express sells a replacement tube for the IE300 for ~$170, can't say anything about the shipping though. I have dug around a lot, and I believe that the IE300, DK40A, and the RS3040A are all built...
Got one.
Love it...
That thing is super handy.
Can't tell you how accurate it is, works fine for my needs, ~ +/- 2.5mils. it seems you get the best performance the closer you are to the edge....

Nobody understand what you say. :confused:
Sorry... :frown:
Who is your business agent in Canada?
Do you have web page?
Do you have friend to write English?
Keep Trying. :)
Hi Hkxy
No, they show complete laser tube information.
Very useful.
Sorry about the confusion. :p
Jay
I found this CO2 Laser properties chart at http://www.spread-laser.com/ProductsCo2Tube.asp
It may be useful to the DIYers following this thread...

Has anyone bought a DK40A from Redsail yet?
If so, can you tell me how it well works with vector type files, .plt, .dxf?
Also could you post a photo of the innards?
And do you like it?
Jay
Hi hkxy;
Your translation is bad.
BAD, BAD, BAD
We want to talk to you
We no understand
Nothing
Please find friend that talks english
Please. Please, Please
Then we talk
Syil;
Can you post a complete list of options currently available from you for the CNC X3?
A number of interesting options have been mentioned by members the group, but it would be super nice to...
Ed;
You mentioned a g-code controllable spindle motor driver from Syil, and I have heard of other options, such as a different gear ratio or belt drive for a higher top end speed. Does anybody have...
Thanks!!!
The one on the right took about an hour because I did not know what I was doing...
The one on the left took less than 5 minutes because I kinda know what to do now... :rolleyes:
I...
Here are a couple of parts I was able to create by pulling in some DWG files, getting rid of everything but the top view, and then using the 'Create Face' command in the Utilities section of the...
I went and looked in Sketchup forum and was unable to find any current dialog on the accuracy issue. It seems that the common practice is to scale things up by a factor of a thousand when a high...
The Sketchup folks are none too clear on that point, but the free version allows you to import a bunch of different formats, DXF and DWG as well. I use that feature all the time...
Jay
Andy;
I hope you get an opportunity to work on a Sketchup KMZ converter soon.
Anyhow, I am more than happy to volunteer to be a lab rat for your test code…
Good Luck!!!
