Thank you all for your help! I'm getting some Mosfets delivered in the new few hours. Fingers crossed it works :)
I'll be ordering some Mosfets. Is the IRF540NPbF or the IRF540N the right one? Or none of those?
Just tested it and the driver still has the red light on. This unfortunately still leaves two option: Driver only went bad and the motor is fine, or the motor is broken and shorted the driver. The...
Wouldn't I risk burning up the x axis motor in case there is a fault with the z axis driver?
Thanks so much for the hint! I'll be trying to solder some high current rc bullet connectors to the driver. Fingers crossed the motor and driver are still fine.
Just found out another clue to the problem: I wanted to use the x axis stepper driver to drive the z axis. When unplugging the z axis I noticed that the plug is burnt up. Looks like something...

Could need some help/suggestions in trouble shooting:
Finished an engraving, and when I wanted to re-run the job, he Z-Axis started making a terrible...
Available for sale in Los Angeles for USD 2000. Here's the manufactures website for more info: Small Manual Benchtop Plastic Injection Molding Machine
Selling it because we moved up to an...
Using Blasocut 2000 as well with no issues (factory is actually just 20mins away from my place). I definitely wouldn't use plain water. Water isn't really lubricating and since some coolant usually...
Bought my PCNC 1100 in November 2013. Customer service was always terrific. However, my last order of accessories got completely screwed up. Multiple mistakes happened and e-mails weren't answered....
Got my tapping set after about a full month. Was packed so poorly that the shipping box ripped, the woodbox broke, and the contents spilled. 3 quick change collets fell out of the box and are...
Placed an order two weeks ago. Contacted them 3 times before I finally got an answer. Order still hasn't even shipped up to this day. I need the item ASAP for my business. This is getting ridiculous!
@Ray
Thanks, that was exactly the information I was looking for. Just ordered the Tormach Modular T/C tapping head set :)
I was going to use form taps. I'm just worried that those small taps will break with a tension compression tapping head. Do you think I'll be fine?
Another option would be to get a cheap ($170)...
I'm going to cut a lot of m4 threads (also some m3) for my Kickstarter project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1644276831/loxkey-minimalist-key-organizer-edc-spinner/
So far I've been cutting...
I think I can handle doing quite a large amount of them on the Tormach. I have access to a large sheet metal shear so I can quickly pre-cut the stock material. This means I only have to mill away a...
That is awesome, thank you so much!!!
Almost 100% on the Tormach with the exception of the carbon fiber inlays. I'm just worried about the carbon dust because it is a health hazard and I feel I'm not properly equipped to deal with it....
haha, that was a typo, should be 2.5mm of course :)
It really depends on the type of molds your are making. Higher rpm really only allows you to machine faster, but that is about it. I'm just glad I got the 1100 because I really need the extra travel....
My Kickstarter project is finally online. I'm making those with my PCNC 1100. If you have any questions, let me know.

I have a Quick 220 for sale.
I used it successfully to run the PCNC 1100 for about half a year. I no longer need it because I moved the Tormach to Europe were 220V is the standard.
If you are...
It looks like I'll just have to use M3 screws. I'm hand tapping because I don't have a tapping head at the moment. Thanks for all your replies!
Part material is 6082 Aluminum (similar to 6061). Using adhesive would work but is not practical for "mass production" as it takes a lot of time to remove the parts.
I'm not worried about the M3 screws holding. It's more for practicality. I was hopping to avoid them because I'm not looking forward to hand tapping 40 plus M3 holes and also think a lot of "fiddling...
3mm thick (0.12"). Chamfer goes 2mm deep.
I only have to chamfer on one side. However, I wanted to avoid having to screw them down as mentioned in my first post because I would have to use M3 screws and they are just a little bit to flimsy...
Just bumping up this thread. The molder is still for sale... If anybody is interested, please PM me.
I'm going to make a couple hundred units of the part pictured (a little less than 4 inches long). I start with stock that is just a tiny amount oversized so I can mill it quicker as I don't have to...
@akmetal I feel you have a completely wrong idea about cnc milling. You will crash and scrap lots of parts no matter what machine u buy. If your g-code is faulty the same might happen. You sound like...
