    Experiencing racking (I think)

I have a self-built CNC out of 80/20 aluminum extrusion 3030 beams. Approximately 1200 mm x1400 mm table. I have 2 Nema 23s 425 oz-in steppers running the table with DM542T drivers. Smooth stepper...

Re: very rough axis movement while cutting

Just talked to someone in another group, and it may be that I left my machine in exact stop mode rather than constant velocity. I’m going to check that out when I get back to the shop. I thought I...

Re: very rough axis movement while cutting

I’ve reduced max velocities and max accelerations to 1200mm/min and 20mm/min. I’ve looked repeatedly at my axes and have been unable to locate loose screws or binding. I also don’t understand why it...

very rough axis movement while cutting

Can anyone help me? I built a t-slot CNC (~3ft x 4ft table) and while traversing the table or jogging the machine, it runs smoothly enough, but when running g-code or cutting a file, it is like the...

I only have it on the left side. I use switches rather than sensors. Would that work? I realized after checking the table that the distance between opposite corners was not the same, indicating that...

I just checked the table and the distance across the corners are off. I’m not sure how I’m going to get them square, but hopefully I’ll be able to. There may be a mechanical issue as well, but I...

  13. Re: Want to make 8020 frame and then buy all the custom plates and motor mounts as a

Not sure exactly what you are looking for unless it’s a pre-designed build like the Openbuilds’ Ox. It’s not 80/20 extrusion T-slot, it’s V-slot.

Re: BOB and NPN Proxy Switch wiring question.

    Just curious,

Are you using a motion controller with this? I thought cncrouterparts included electronics with their routers.
  15. Re: Want to make 8020 frame and then buy all the custom plates and motor mounts as a

Here are just a few resources to start with:

    AutomationDirect.com
    StepperOnline.com

    controllers:
    CNC4U
    PMDX
    Warp9td

Plenty, but it's a lot of work. Do you have an idea of the model you intend to build? Do you want similar electronics to the CNCrouterparts? Are you going to cut the beams yourself or purchase them...
