If you have access to the rear of the machine, put a 100W trouble light under the column and leave it plugged in.

I do not use path pilot, but if I am understanding the thread properly, wouldn't this SW corner probe be used to set the corner of the fixed jaw of your vice as zero and then install your material.

Regarding 3D Alignment Indicator, take a look at kbctools.com page 667.

I have no experience with this item, but it is worth considering if you are in the market for one
