Using angular contact bearing at motor side is ideal and standard radial bearing should be used on other side.

Audible frequency varies person to person, usually lower ages vs olders. Change the oscilator capacitor for TB6560 to a lower value i.e. 100pf and produced frequency will be out of ear...

There is no bearing at stepper end. Thurst load may damage the bearing of the stepper. But it's a small machine, could be ok.
I would suggest not to waste your money to buy it.
I bought it recently and also bought one from MLCS wood working but both of them is just a fan regulator and useless for router speed control....
