    Re: Vacuum pump/generator help

Both will work. The Becker would be like driving a bus to pick up a postal stamp. Calculate the internal volume of the fixture(table) you want to use and divide by flow rate of pump. It should be...

    Re: Vacuum pump/generator help

We have successfully used pumps similar to the Robinair for machining. The flow rate will determine how quickly it will draw down and maintain a vacuum. If your part is not flat to begin with it...
  3. Re: Need parameters for spindle serial drive Tsugami NP20 w/ 10 T control

A little leery of communicating outside of the forum. Not looking to get scammed. This is for work. If anyone has the drive parameters, it would be much appreciated.
  4. Need parameters for spindle serial drive Tsugami NP20 w/ 10 T control

    Hi all.

Our NP20 was locked up with alarm AL-17 on the drive. We were unable to read the parameters and do not have any such documentation.

Had to reset to clear alarm.

    Looking for 00-34. ...
  5. Re: Is it posable.... to use a g13 to cut a circle on the y and z axis?

I am only aware of G13 in G17 plane selection. The surface at 56° does not lie in A work plane. Otherwise you could G03 with IJ or K to swing the arc (G18 G19). I have only done what you are...

    Re: machine choice help

Generally torque will increase with horsepower. However, not always. Torque will allow the use of bigger drills and taps. Over 16mm it becomes important. You can always thread mill or helically...

    Re: Speeds and feeds

That is correct. If the depth of cut is only at the tip.... then increase from there to account for chip thinning. Ball mills are their own animal. Feed is dependent on axial DOC.

    Re: machine choice help

I want to know what technical specs I should ask the marketing guys before making a purchase. I am planning to start machining aerospace parts. Appreciate any feedback.

    I would recommend a Sales...

    Re: machine choice help

IMO.... Tormach is for hobbyists. If you are looking to make $$$... Haas is a good starter machine. Makino or Yasda when you get bigger.

Re: Leveling pads - steel or rubber?

    Steel.
  12. Re: 4flute vs 2 flute indexables, and large holes thru thick plate!

No drill. Use a square shoulder inserted endmill/facemill. 1-1/2" for the 3" bore. 2" for the 4" bore. Helix through the material from solid.--Helix - not spiral. More flutes would be better. ...

Re: What coolant do you like and why?

I like Castrol MB50. The best I have personally used. Great tool life. Does no turn rancid.(Sump life in years!!) Protects the machine tool- no rust. Does not stain brass. Does not give me a...

    Re: Speeds and feeds

Your feed rate is very low. 0.00125 per revolution. This will cause the tool to wear prematurely. Assuming not plunging the tool into a corner and good coolant supply (Air preferred... mill steel...

    Re: Depth of Cuts

Without more information.... it's tough to say exactly. The diameter to projection ratio is good. Are you climb milling? What is the spindle taper? How is the tool being held(holder style)? What...

Re: Rust problem with ways ,large cnc mill

What coolant are you using? Some of the less expensive ones do not have a rust inhibitor. We run Castrol MB50. Great product.
  17. Re: Precise holes for bearing -> what endmill for aluminium?

We have had allot of luck using Straight 2 flute end mills to "bore" precision holes. Onsrud work well. Just make the end mill "run-out" to the size needed. (Holes are within 0.002" of a nominal...
  18. Re: This should not be difficult - Why is my circle so big?

    Hi ecdez.

Numbers are good.... assuming 3/16 tool diameter. It's odd that the "mouth" is at 2 o'clock. It simulates at 11. Perhaps a bogus code from the prior tool? Try adding G50 and G69 in...
