get a degree, be sure to add a heavy dose of comuters premed, and engineering. Get into medical manufacturing, particuarly orthopaedics.. with a growing aging population, and a youth into extreme...
we run hangsterfers hardcut NG in our swiss, also an ester based oil (synthetic derived from vegatable). nice high flash point, and some parrafinated chlorine. 7 weight so it pumps nice. I have...
check the center height with an indicator, or yank it and check on the OC.. also sometimes bore bars have negative pockets with positive inserts, if the pocket angle changes there will be center...
post your code and we can probably macro it out for you
I cut Ti every day in my job making medical implants.. and it is not that bad. use ample coolant (striaght oil or really thick water based ) and use carbide tooling, for milling start at about 135...
have your local mitsubishi supplier give you a drill to test, the MZE line if you do not have thru coolant, and the MZS line if you do, obviously the thru coolant one will be faster, but the MZE is a...
there is pitch Diameter and Pitch lead.
.2175 is the pitch diameter of 1/4-20, it's a gage diameter measured 1/4 lead from centerline, a way to measure the threads with a number and not go/nogo.

yes most machines rigid tap cycle are very accurate when they are new, good to the tenths, but you add your worst case couple of tenths to the worst case couple of tenths that the tap manufacturer...
the folating holder is nice for absorbing some of the machine acceleration inaccuracies, hopefully you will only need a few tenths of that stroke and not .300...
roll taps are very nice for small...
there are internal backturning tools, for example you can get a kennametal ng (2 3 or 4) (topnotch) boting bar and stick a topnotch backturn into it (npk or npdk)

simple solution for the second pass, reverse the spindle, do the same pass, start exactly 1/2 lead further away from the part than on the first pass . most of the time double lead threads are done...
for small parts Ti6Al4V eli High speed roughing I use Z-carb ball nose end mills @ 8500 rpm 100 ipm .012-.015 radial stepover and as deep axial as there is flutes, straight oil coolant (hangsterfers...
cannulated stock, forecreau usa has it (I may have spelled that wrong)
I've used heavy gear oil in the past and it works great, messy, but effective.
I'd be willing to bet your stock is out of round as well.. a swiss can inprove the roundness of a bar by 70% at best, sometimes less than that, so if your bar is OOR by .002 I can see your parts...
armor all sprayed into your coolant can be an effective anti foam, it's the silicon oil that removes the surface tension.
we use the thru coolant to flush parts as well, on both Cits and star's.. we suck out very small parts using an air amplifier and a coffee filter .
we have been amking ejector blanks out of brass...
are you planning on using g32?
I have 3 sr's and they are fine machines, the 4 station drill is nice on the gang slide, they are a bit of a pain to set the live tools (big reach and don't slip on the wrench).. sturdy, accurate.....
get a non slotted gb, non adjustable, but much less scratching.. also if you are picking this off the sub may be your problem, or the main for that matter
threadmilling with CZ is cake
