  1. Re: New Path Pilot, New PC, Missing Some Letters/Text On Monitor

Removed graphics card and hooked up a monitor with a display port cable and it's all good now. Guess it didn't like the graphics card.
  2. Re: New Path Pilot, New PC, Missing Some Letters/Text On Monitor

Every computer I have had in the past for this machine has had a DVI card. I've been using the same DVI/VGA adapter and cable to the same monitor since about 2007. This computer also has display port...

The computer started out with Windows, like every Tormach control pre-PP, but once PP is installed, I believe everything to do with Windows is erased.
  4. Re: New Path Pilot, New PC, Missing Some Letters/Text On Monitor

Yes, it was installed with the USB stick from Tormach. I am thinking now it probably is the drivers for the graphics card, but I have no idea how to update them with PP.

The OG one I’ve always used. I’ll try HDMI tomorrow. May need to scrounge a newer monitor to try that has HDMI capability.

  7. New Path Pilot, New PC, Missing Some Letters/Text On Monitor

I’ve been running Tormach’s Mach 3 since 2007. My last computer finally died and we were having a hard time building an XP computer now days. Decided to switch to PP.

My friend put together a PC...

    Tormach Control VS PC?

I'm sure this has been asked, but the terms are too common to search for it.

Is there any benefit to the Tormach control vs. a PC running Path Pilot?

My last PC running XP/Tormach Mach 3 ****...

Yeah, yeah, OK, I got the terminology mixed up between the ports/connectors....

I ended up uninstalling everything and reinstalling my original Tormach MachIII from when I bought the machine. It...

    Computer Won't Communicate With Machine

My original computer from 2007 finally **** the bed. A friend put me together a new PC with a serial port and XP so I could continue running the Tormach Mach III that I am used to. I loaded the...

    Re: New 1100 dumb question

Machines never come with tooling or tool holders unless you order them. How are they supposed to know what tools you will be using?
  14. Re: Damn the power and coolant switches being side by side!

The coolant and interior light buttons are right next together on my turning center. More than once I've turned the coolant on with the door open while doing a setup. The coolant pressure and volume...
  15. Re: Problem with Series 1: Z+ moves Z+, Z- moves Z+

Ok, I wasn't sure which drive was the Z so I checked them all. The ribbon cable connector at one drive was extremely loose, like being held on by the cable tension. I unplugged it and it is the Z...
  16. Re: Problem with Series 1: Z+ moves Z+, Z- moves Z+

I'll take a look at that.

I did just go back out after having the machine powered off for a while. It seemed to work fine. I ran my test program in the air and it seemed to work fine. Then I got...
  17. Re: Problem with Series 1: Z+ moves Z+, Z- moves Z+

It also does the same in the program, not just when jogging it around.
  18. Problem with Series 1: Z+ moves Z+, Z- moves Z+

This machine has been sitting for years. I finally got it into my new shop and powered back up. I ran a program yesterday without issue. Today I went to run the same program and on the first Z- move,...

  21. Re: Tormach Lathe Capabilies Questions + Turret?

$20k is in the ballpark of getting you a nice used real turning center. Granted if you're putting it into a residential garage, you may need to upgrade the electric service, get a phase converter and...

Re: New to threading on lathe

PARTIAL profile inserts will cover between 16-48 and 8-14 TPI. FULL profile requires an insert for each specific pitch or thread form.

    Re: CLEANING UP DAMAGED THREADS

You can do it easy enough with a Fanuc and Haas has built in cycles for thread repair I believe. I'd find it hard to believe that you couldn't do it with a Tormach.

    Save the thread files for...
