Re: Milling and Drilling Quartz Material?

I use sintered diamond ring tools to generate spherical surfaces on glass. Quartz/fused silica is very hard glass. our application only requires plunge cuts along the z-axis to generate a curve and...

Re: Fagor 8070 Warm up routine

Thanks, that did the trick. I had to do some research to find that doing it this way requires the target line to have a ":" after the line number.

    Dyna myte 2900

What can y'all tell me about a dynamyte 2900 3 axis mill. What kind of tolerances can it hold? Is such a small mill rigid at all? It looks old, can you still get parts for it?

Re: Making a defined aspheric cuve

I have mastercam 2019 and am self taught. I don't have any training but have been able to use youtube to figure out most of what I have needed so far. I need to draw an aspheric lens. My plan was...

    C-axis shenanigans

I have a 5 axis mill with an 8070 control. When I run a program that engages the c-axis it will line itself up in the obviously wrong position. When I reset the program and restart, it lines up...

    Fadal VMC

I am curious about aquiring a used vertical 3 axis mill. I see a handfull of reasonably priced Fadal VMC's from the 90's on Ebay. What can you guys tell me about these machines? Does fadal still...
