You probably don't have a centered fly path. With a larger beam... It is quite easy to scatter the beam if it is not truly centered.

Should be centered due to simplicity on further mirror alignments or else the cut will not be perpendicular to the cutting plane as the focal point line will be slightly diagonal in a 3d sense..

There are several brands... Some better than others... But cloudray (either on eBay or Ali) are actually good for the price they cost. Purchased a few for a 100w co2 laser and they are still there...

It's not the laser tube power that defines your cutting capabilities. It is the focal point energy density...

Usually.. smaller focal point optics are more energy dense.. so I would try to find...

I am trying to focus a 2.5w blue solid state laser diode... But then this happens (attached images)...

No clear small dot is ever achieved... Any idea why? There always this "line" crossing the...

Well the machine worked ok.. till this new diode blowned up again.. i've changed this diode about 5 times. Sometimes it works for a few hours.. sometimes it works a whole day.. but it always blows...

Well.. the problem on the step driver was a blown-up diode.. a current limitation diode to be more exact. I have replaced it by a new one.. and it will have to do till the new driver arrives. All...

Funny thing.. this isn't so hard to do afterall.. unfortunately.. one of the step motor drivers burned out.. rats!!

So i guess that there will be a slight delay on the video posting regarding this...

If you need that sized machine i think i can get it cheaper (about 1k USD) with good laser quality.

I can even get you larger machines already assembled.. with motorized table, usb, tactile...
