Re: My solution for the computer switch

After you mentioned this I looked at the power strip I use for PP control, monitor and other stuff. I have it mounted along side of a rolling tool box for easy access. I ended up moving it as high...

    Re: Tormach 24R Router

Yes this is a small machine by most standards. My problem from the start is most 4x8 + size machines are at the edge of being imho pure commercial tools and need large environments to use. Cost and...

    Re: Tormach 24R Router

Might need to experiment a little. Vac system will hold sheet material well. But as you cut holes and profiles it will loose some holding power. I dont have or use vac pump yet. Might add one to the...

    Re: Tormach 24R Router

Time flies when your having fun!
Almost a year of use already and my only complaint is small high speed tools make lots of noise. Over all the machine is easy to use and get accurate results. I can...

    Re: Pathpilot

I use newest release but right now I only use probe on 24r router to find precision points like fixture edge or center of a long board. I see no issues. What problems are you seeing?

    Re: New Fusion 360 limitations

Just to add my experience on this subject.
Last December I purchased a 24r router. When unpacking the machine there was a flyer for fusion 360 stuck into the manual along with some other stuff....
  9. Re: Fusion 360 Reduces Functionality for hobby users

I meant draw, model, and setup cam, test and move on. By end of month you can have a number of parts to make over and over. Other wise if your doing one and done like half my stuff IMHO its simple...
  10. Re: Fusion 360 Reduces Functionality for hobby users

I noticed they have a monthly subscription. Pay 60$ and do all your cad cam that month! Then make stuff for months and or relax until you have another project worthy of paying the rental.
  11. Re: Fusion 360 Reduces Functionality for hobby users

NOVEDGE still sells $297-1 year sub and an $801 3 year subscription.

I must say I seen some very impressive work done by people with that program suite! And the last couple years had me shaking my...

    Re: "Making" a new controller

    Re: "Making" a new controller

Part of the problem is drivers Im guessing!
I cant find a keyboard with a track ball option that works with linux and yet they are a common windows device.

Re: Machining tough steel on a Tormach

    Couple questions?
Did your spindle bearings get hot?
Would a 3 or 4 insert cutter with reduced shank mitigate some of the hammering with more engagement?
Could the part be machined from each side...

    Re: BT30 or R8/TTS?

With a check for around $5000.00 sent to Tormach you to can have auto tool change with TTS or bt30 depending on spindle :)
About half the price for the machine alone!

Re: Shuttle Jog Step button cover

    Kind of clever!
gives me the idea to make base with some NASA type bumper guards on each side. that would allow use but still keep floating fingers off it.

    Re: Linux help needed

    thats pretty wild idea.

I was thinking you hacked a tool like the Dremel velocity to run in a CNC router gantry format.
be slick for cutting thick material with square inside edges like foam.
